We are excited to announce the successful kick-off of our NHPig project held on November 18-19, 2024, in Freising, Germany. This innovative project aims to expand translational knowledge in minipigs, paving the way to reduce and replace non-human primates in non-clinical safety assessments.

The meeting brought together over 60 participants from the 28 partner institutions and organizations, reflecting the broad interest and collaborative spirit driving this project. The event featured insightful presentations, interactive sessions, and productive discussions, setting a strong foundation for the project’s success.

A further highlight of the project was the informative and inspirational talks that some of our Advisory Board members and external guests offered. Their insights and expertise set a positive and motivating tone for the project.

From now on, we will maintain regular communication through bi-weekly work package meetings, monthly Steering and Executive board meetings, a dedicated project portal and various social media sites for updates and collaboration.

We are thrilled to embark on this journey and look forward to achieving significant advancements in healthcare through our NHPig project.
